Kid Krazy Preschool in Astoria Queens, which provides care and education for children 1 year to 5 years of age, is searching for an energetic personality that takes early childhood education seriously and who is not afraid to get silly with our little one's but knowledgeable about early childhood education or willing to learn. A candidate that can take direction and communicate effectively with their team, administration, and our parents.

Candidates must be able to work Monday thru Friday consecutively at the shift hired.

Rate of Pay: $18

The following requirements are needed:

1. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young children- in classroom setting preferred

2. DOI Fingerprinting

3. A desire to make a positive impact on a child’s life

4. A desire to be part of a school that views early childhood education as one of the most important times in a child’s life.

5. A nurturing, loving, and respectful approach to communicating with children.

6. Understanding of Child Development

7. A team player and a willingness to work hard.

8. Excellent communication skills

9. Candidates pursuing ECE or a similar field are preferred.

10. All employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19. (Minimum of 2 doses)

Physical Demands:

This position requires the following physical activities: pushing, pulling, climbing, walking, standing, squatting, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, lifting, bending, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. At times: lifting children (apprx 40 lbs) or moving furniture for cleaning.

Cleaning - Daily end of the day cleaning of the classroom that entails, soaking toys for disinfecting, wiping chairs, tables, cubbies, children's / adult bathroom, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and a weekly steam clean of classroom carpet.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing curriculum development activities for the classroom
- Provide support and supervision to children in a daycare or toddler care setting
- Communicate effectively with both children and parents/guardians
- Assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for early childhood education
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate activities
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured learning experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and materials

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development and literacy education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
- Associates degree; additional coursework in early childhood education is a plus

Pay: $18.00 per hour
