What is Indian Navy Agniveer (Apprentice) Recruitment 2026?

The Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment, Naval Headquarters, New Delhi has announced the Indian Navy Agniveer (Apprentice) recruitment for 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches under the Agnipath Scheme for unmarried Indian male candidates with AICTE‑recognised 3‑year diplomas in engineering or electrical trades.

Eligibility

  • Age limit: 01 Dec 2004 – 31 May 2009 for 01/2027 batch; 01 May 2005 – 31 Oct 2009 for 02/2027 batch.
  • Qualification: 10th pass with minimum 50% and a 3‑year Diploma (AICTE‑recognised) with minimum 50% in the relevant trade.
  • Marital status: Unmarried male candidates only.
  • Nationality: Indian male citizens only.
  • Trade streams: Engineering and Electrical as listed.

Selection Process

  • Stage I – INET (computer‑based) (Tentatively August 2026).
  • Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT) + Written Examination + Recruitment Medical.
  • Pre‑enrolment medical at INS Chilka.

Vacancies & Service

  • Total vacancies: To be decided based on service requirement.
  • Service duration: 4 years under the Agnipath Scheme.
  • Regular Cadre: Up to 25 % of Agniveers may be enrolled in the regular cadre based on performance.

Pay & Benefits

  • Year‑1 in‑hand ₹30,000; Year‑4 in‑hand ₹40,000 (monthly).
  • Contribution to Agniveer Corpus Fund 30 % of monthly package; match by GoI.
  • Seva Nidhi corpus ₹10.04 Lakhs on completion.
  • Risk/hardship / dress & travel allowances.
  • Non‑contributory Life Insurance cover ₹48 Lakh.
  • Death compensation ₹44 Lakh (ex‑gratia).
  • Disability compensation ₹44/25/15 Lakhs for 100%/75%/50% disability.
  • 30 days leave per year; sick leave as per medical advice.
  • No gratuity or pension benefits.

  • Open: 05 June 2026 – 29 June 2026 (online at joinindiannavy.gov.in).
  • Application fee: ₹550 + 18 % GST (online). Exempted for NCC 'C' holders.
