Job Title: 3PL Manager (Third-Party Logistics)

Role Overview

The 3PL Manager will be responsible for managing third-party logistics partners to ensure efficient warehousing, transportation, and last-mile delivery for agricultural products and inputs. The role focuses on optimizing logistics operations, maintaining service levels, controlling costs, and ensuring timely distribution across rural and semi-urban markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. 3PL Partner Management

- Manage relationships with third-party logistics service providers (transporters, warehouses, fulfillment partners).

- Monitor 3PL performance against SLAs such as on-time delivery, fill rate, and damage rates.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and improvement planning with logistics partners.

2. Logistics Operations

- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations across warehouses and distribution centers.

- Ensure smooth movement of agri inputs, farm produce, or equipment across regional hubs.

- Manage route optimization and shipment planning to improve efficiency.

3. Warehouse & Inventory Coordination

- Coordinate with warehouses operated by 3PL partners to ensure accurate inventory management.

- Monitor stock movement, replenishment, and order fulfillment timelines.

- Ensure compliance with storage requirements for agri products (fertilizers, seeds, crop protection, etc.).

4. Cost Optimization

- Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve transportation and warehousing efficiency.

- Negotiate contracts and pricing with 3PL vendors.

- Implement cost-effective distribution models for rural supply chains.

5. Technology & Reporting


- Work with supply chain tech teams to integrate WMS/TMS systems with 3PL partners.

- Track KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), transit time, freight cost per shipment, and delivery success rates.

- Generate operational reports and insights for management.

6. Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety norms, and documentation.

- Manage risk related to damage, spoilage, or delays in agricultural supply chains.

- Develop contingency plans for disruptions.

Required Qualifications

1. Any graduate.

2. MBA in Operations / Supply Chain preferred.

Experience

1. 12 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.

2. Strong experience managing 3PL partners in FMCG, e-commerce, agritech, or retail distribution.

3. Experience in multi-location distribution networks and rural logistics is a plus.
