The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for promoting the sale of Bel products by managing the Manufacturer's Representative network, coordinating application engineers, product line managers, inside sales, assigned distributors, and/or operations personnel in a manner that assures we meet and exceed the expectations of our customers and the goals and strategies of the company. The primary responsibilities include selecting, training, motivating, managing, leading, and discharging the field rep sales force of the company to achieve expected results relative to business levels and growth.

Are You Looking To:

  • Direct, supervise, motivate, lead and support the territory’s Manufacturer’s Representatives, assigned distributors, and/or various "resource" employees to ensure territorial and company sales (sales quotas) and other strategic targets are met. Some of the tools associated with this include quote tracking, rep training, and active leadership of the territory by whatever means possible
  • Ensure that Manufacturers Representatives and distributors are properly trained on all products and have the necessary samples, literature, and other sales aids to perform their functions
  • Responsibility for direct interface with key accounts to ensure all product sales potential is being realized and service levels are optimal
  • As a key member of the sales support for the distribution channel, the RSM will support joint account calls with authorized distributor Account Managers and will meet with key distribution partners for Quarterly Business Reviews as directed, reporting the result of these sessions with upstream management and potentially manufacturers reps
  • In conjunction with the rep, bring Product Management and Business Development Managers into targeted accounts to increase our design win potential. At the same time, leverage Product Management to train the reps when in territory

Are You Ready To:

  • Ensure that a formal contract is in place and signed by all applicable parties for representatives and franchised distributors
  • Perform a leadership role in customer audits of the factories and any customer visit
  • Serve as a source of ideas for, info on parameters of, and a source of industry specifications relative to ongoing collaboration with internal R&D or application engineering in existing and new products
  • Promote new company products and product programs including trade shows
  • Identify, interview and qualify new prospective manufacture rep firms and employees as required

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business required
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in technical sales and marketing, working with and supervising Manufacturer’s Representatives and/or direct sales agents
  • Ability to travel 50-70% of the time, both domestic and international
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral
  • Experience with management of distribution sales channel and providing product training to distribution office and field sales personnel as well as reporting of distribution operations

  • Base salary range: $100,000 – $150,000. The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
