Position Summary:


Franklin Mountain Management is seeking a skilled Senior Tax Accountant to lead complex tax and accounting functions across the organization. This role is ideal for a detail‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys tackling sophisticated tax matters with accuracy and confidence. You’ll manage federal, state, and local tax filings, support strategic tax planning, and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulations. This position also plays a key role in mentoring junior staff and strengthening our overall tax operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, provisions, schedules, and related filings.

  • Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and internal databases.

  • Oversee outsourced tax preparation work when applicable.

  • Complete quarterly and annual tax filings, including estimates and extensions.

  • Prepare tax statements, financial statements, and BAS statements.

  • Conduct tax research and recommend strategies to reduce tax liability while maintaining compliance.

  • Monitor changes in tax laws and advise on necessary adjustments.

  • Assist with audit preparation, audit defense, and supporting documentation.

  • Prepare business income tax returns and audit‑ready materials.

  • Perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including adjusting entries and trial balances.

  • Ensure all work meets technical accuracy standards and is completed within budgeted timeframes.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior team members.

  • Perform additional related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in public or corporate tax accounting.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complex tax issues independently.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of discretion when handling confidential financial information.
